Like the 1983, one of the richer vintages in this collection, although as Engerer reminded us this was a vintage that looked for many weeks as though it would never ripen and was saved by some fine weather in September. Nowadays, crop thinning and greater risk-taking would probably result in riper wines . Sinewy and complex. – 17.5JR (2009)
